Aberdeen frontline crew to appear on new TV series

Aberdeen frontline crew to appear on new TV series: ABERDEEN 03

Frontline Aberdeen staff members from the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) will appear on a new series of Paramedics on Scene, which airs on Tuesday.

Wendy Duncan, Paramedic Team Leader, Dawn Gauld, Technician, and Student, Amy Owen will feature alongside SAS’s West Ambulance Control Centre (ACC) and Edinburgh frontline staff.

Wendy said: There are many reasons why this is one of the best jobs you can do. We learn to rely on each other in high-pressure situations, which has created a strong friendship bond.

“There are few very jobs that offer the satisfaction of working side by side with a friend to make life-saving decisions. The shared experience of helping others is deeply fulfilling. Our emergency calls can be intense but having your friend by your side means you always have someone to lean on emotionally and professionally.

Dawn added: “Each of us bring different skills and experiences. Working closely allows you to learn from each other, improve techniques, and become a better professional.  No two calls are the same, and thinking through challenges together—whether it’s a difficult medical case or navigating tricky situations—makes the job dynamic and engaging.

“It was an honour and a privilege to represent the Scottish Ambulance Service and to have the television crews out with us.”

Season Six of Paramedics on Scene is on BBC Scotland at 10pm on Tuesday and repeated at 10pm on Thursday. It is also available on BBC iPlayer.
