Aberdeen Emergency Responders Feature on New BBC Series

Frontline Aberdeen staff members from the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) will appear on a new series of Paramedics on Scene, which airs on Sunday.

Rachel Brown, Technician, and Scott Burnett, Paramedic Team Leader, will feature alongside SAS’s Special Operation Response Team (SORT), East Ambulance Control Centre (ACC) and the service’s air ambulance team.

Rachel and Scott, both based out of Aberdeen, said: “We believe it gives the people in and around Aberdeen and the surrounding areas  a great insight to the work the service does, shows the real reality of some of the things we face on the road and equally the challenges we come up against.

“Being on the frontline is incredibly rewarding and it's a great opportunity for the public to see a bit of what goes on locally.”

Season Five of Paramedics on Scene is on BBC Scotland at 9am on Sunday and repeated at 8pm on Tuesday. It is also available on BBC iPlayer.

The next episode features a crew helping an intoxicated man who has fallen down some stairs, paramedics attend to a road traffic collision and a helicopter crew flies to Islay to help a pregnant woman who is experiencing a bleed.
