Public called to provide input into 2030 Strategy

The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) is asking the public to share their views on its draft 2030 strategy as it looks to shape its service to meet the needs of a changing population.

The strategy will help improve our care to patients by anticipating needs and responding to these as quickly and safely as possible, delivering the right care at the right time in the right place and enhancing staff experience.

After launching a discussion document in April (2022), the Service initially asked for input from internal and external stakeholders.

This feedback was taken on board and now the public has now been urged to give their input to how we can improve our services over the coming years..

Scottish Ambulance Service Chief Executive Pauline Howie said: “The last two years have profoundly impacted our health, economy, society, and our Service.

“We have sought to deliver the best care we can throughout the pandemic, but we know the impacts of COVID-19 are still felt acutely by individuals, our staff, and the wider health and care system.

“The environment in which we operate is changing, and we need to adapt to meet the changing needs of our population, which is steadily growing.

“The top priorities for the Scottish Ambulance Service are patient safety and staff welfare. Our brilliant staff have provided feedback, which is invaluable, and the public’s feedback will be equally as important for us as we look ahead to the future.

“We really want to hear from people all over Scotland about their experiences, what they would like to see improved and any challenges or issues in their local area.

“To achieve our aims, we need to collaborate, design and deliver service change with our staff, volunteers, public, patients, local and national government, community groups, charities and voluntary organisations.”

The closing date for feedback is July 11 and the public can download our draft strategy and provide feedback at www.scottishambulanceservice.com
